Our Executive Creative Director, Andrew Lawrence, is joining the acclaimed Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE) Visiting Professors Scheme 2019 with Staffordshire University.
The RAE scheme enables the university to launch a three-year project under the umbrella of “The Creative Connection”. The project aims to develop and deliver innovative teaching and learning practices to increase student learning, build sustainable networks and develop employability skills for the next generation of engineers and designers. Andrew will be working directly with Staffordshire University engineering and design students to enhance their work-readiness, through building skills and attributes associated with employability. The intention is to build sustainable creative knowledge exchange with an opportunity to connect across the university.
Professor Jess Power (the academic champion) says “We are delighted to welcome Andrew as our Visiting Professor of Innovation. He has a wealth of experience from design which we know will enthuse our engineering students and set them apart from other graduates. The project launches on Thursday 17th Oct when Andrew will focus on “stand up and stand out..” to ensure our students have fire in their belly right from the start of their learning journey”.
Andrew was voted number 36 in the Drums Designerati (2015). Under his leadership the Elmwood team has won over 370 creative awards, a whole host of international, national and regional accolades. These include D&AD, Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, Design Week Awards and many more.
