22 Street Lane is an exclusive day nursery in Roundhay, Leeds. It opened with a big ambition – to provide excellence in early years care. Our marque represents the growth of the individual child and the close bond between children and staff. 22 Street Lane Nursery turns its back on primary-coloured plastic and childish graphics, and instead takes its cues from luxury and resort branding to appeal to a more discerning clientele. Boardman Bikes needed to enhance its credentials and grow brand awareness among novice and expert riders. We introduced the inclusive and reassuring ’Out there with you‘ brand positioning, and designed the new B symbol in the style of the peloton and tucked the C for cycles inside the B of Boardman. And we applied a daylight-inspired palette to imitate the daytime hues of the ride. To see the work, click here.

Trade stationery supplier Eastpoint wanted to excite teachers with a new brand that would enable great educational experiences, and encourage kids to fall in love with learning. Propeller was born: reflecting the brand’s mission to drive teachers’ expertise forward. We introduced a vibrant colour palette, fun typography, and crafted a suite of beautifully simple icons so teachers could easily navigate around the brand’s offering. To see the work, click here.

As recruiters for the creative industry, Craft understood the importance of taking an individual approach. Its visual identity had to be bold, bright and, well, bespoke. The flexible branding system we created is designed to reflect this, allowing for 1,000,000,000 different combinations. This means that no two logos ever appear the same but are very part of the same brand. To see the work, click here.

In 2014, 62 million tons of raw sewage polluted the tidal River Thames in London. To upgrade London’s Victorian sewerage network and stop it over-spilling into the river, over £4.2bn is being invested in a new state of the art sewer tunnel that spans 25km beneath the city of London. The team behind this innovation had done extensive engagement with communities and needed a strong brand identity that would help them. Our brand marque and associated illustrations reflect both the engineering story beneath the surface, and equally the potential of what can happen above it.
Jonathan Sands OBE, Elmwood owner and Vexillifer: “To have won these Graphis Awards is a tremendous honour and achievement for the Elmwood team and our clients. We believe that effective design marries meaningfulness with memorability to create truly iconic brands. And we salute our clients who have shown the vision to create some extraordinary design work that truly makes a difference.”
