It’s no big secret that the rise of email is responsible for the decline of letters. Except, that is, at Christmas, when a round robin email simply won’t cut the mustard. So it’s interesting to see the Australian postal service stepping back on the toes of digital by incorporating video into their stamps. (First class spot, Phil CG)
The world-first ‘video stamps’ – which are being trialled for free in the run up to Christmas – allow the sender to record a short video message that can be scanned and viewed by the recipient through their smartphone, or via the Australia Post website.
There’s always something nice about receiving a parcel at any time of the year, but the video stamps make it an extra special delivery.
