Crayola have managed to marry art with science with their Educational Chemistry Crayons. The set of 48 crayons are labelled with the names of chemicals that make up the colours.
This clever idea means kids can learn a bit about chemistry while they draw. So instead of saying, ‘I want the green’, they might announce, ‘I’d like the Barium Nitrate Ba(NO3)2 Flame’ instead. Not a bad start for the chemistry students of tomorrow.
