In a bid to attract millennials, a number of retailers are kitting out stores with their very own laundry service. These include US apparel brand American Eagle which has introduced industrial washers into its Manhattan store in the hope it’ll become a hangout for local college students. Australia’s Powder Laundry is also courting a younger demographic with app-operated coinless machines and free wi-fi. And, Japan’s Wash and Fold in Tokyo offers a machine designed exclusively for laundering sneakers, together with its standard laundry service.
