For too long, humble veggies have languished in their earthy tubs while cured meats and fine cheeses have snatched the choicest display slots in store. Not any more. A string of new retail concepts is placing beautiful vegetables proudly front and centre.
Natoora, London’s curated produce store displays vegetables almost as if they’re works of art. They’re arranged on smooth concrete shelves, artfully lit and presented with labels similar to the captions alongside gallery exhibits.
Meanwhile over at Harrods, they’ve appointed a ‘vegetable butcher’ offering ‘bespoke cuts and blends’ against a backdrop of luxury cues and moody lighting usually reserved for expensive handbags and fragrances.
