Does your man-cave need a makeover? Is your washroom a wash out? Worry not. Because, with a little help from Lowe’s, we can all channel our inner Tim ‘The Toolman’ Taylor – and DIY our way to our dream homes.
Lowe’s has teamed up with BDDO New York to create In a Snap: a new Snapchat account that shows users how to complete different home improvement projects. The account includes tutorial-style videos that explain anything from simple tiling to building a study nook.
And the best bit? Thanks to the way Lowe’s have incorporated Snapchat’s tapping function into the videos, you can complete a whole project using only your thumbs. Tap, and a tile comes off the wall. Tap again: another one is gone. Keep tapping and, before you know it, the plaster’s on, the grouting is in, and you’ve built a new backsplash for your virtual kitchen.
Naturally, it’s no good being all thumbs in the real world. But, for DIY beginners like us, this campaign is a simple, snappy and very satisfying start.
