An automatic washing machine takes much of the drudgery out of household laundry, but hey… there’s still all the faff of loading, unloading and folding. Well, say hello to the snappily-named Sustainable Maintainer – a new concept from Panasonic. It’s a washing machine essentially, but one that launders items individually and ends by delicately folding them onto a shelf.
The machine was unveiled recently at consumer electronics fair IFA in Berlin. Panasonic was there to showcase imagined products incorporating IoT and AI technologies, giving us a preview of the kind of appliances we’ll all be using one day. Other prototypes included a fridge that not only stores food, but brings it directly to the user.
No need to leave the sofa then…
