Scotch inspired by 80s dance music hopes to transform whisky drinking.
The 808 drum machine was the pulse behind a whole swathe of early-80s dance classics. And among old school clubbers and DJs, it’s acquired almost legendary status. Given its influence, it’s no surprise that the beat has found its way into a new blend of whisky.
The 808 Drinks Company, which includes DJ Pete Tong as an investor, has just completed crowdfunding for 808 Scotch, a new venture which promises to transform the way we drink whisky the world over. It is, apparently, a signature blend created especially for a new generation of clubbers, but with all the heritage, depth, and soul of a classic Scotch.
