Ever wish bus journeys were a little more chatty? You should try taking an Olli – a 3D printed bus, that has the potential to talk.
Olli was created by start-up Local Motors, and they’ve pulled out all the stops. The bus uses over 30 sensors, carries up to 12 passengers, and can be hailed down using an Uber-style app.
Powered by IMB Watson’s cognitive learning technology, Olli can tell you how it works, respond to voice commands, and even suggest nearby stops that may be of interest.
“By making vehicles in small batches, we can also cater our technologies to specific regions and what those regions need” says Jacqueline Keidel, a spokeswoman for Local Motors.
Currently on the roads in Washington DC, Olli may soon be arriving to Miami-Dade County and Las Vegas in late 2016.
