Amsterdam supermarket stocks over 700 products in biodegradable packaging…
Dutch supermarket Ekoplaza has opened a plastic-free aisle in one of its Amsterdam stores.
The aisle stocks more than 700 products – such as meat, rice and dairy goods – in biodegradable packaging, meaning shoppers can dispose of it with their vegetable waste and after 12 weeks it will completely decompose into water and carbon.
The initiative, launched in partnership with NGO A Plastic Planet, is set to be rolled out nationwide.
