The possibilities suggested by 3D printing have captured the imagination of consumers and manufacturers around the world. And among them, Nike has committed firmly to the new technology, building a new 125,000 sq ft production facility near Portland.
The shoe and sportswear giant is predicting $50 billion in revenue by 2020 with sales of its products, whatever shape they take, boosted by e-commerce sales. That’s a big tick for 3D production then.
