New app turns music into spinning AR sculptures…
Part music video, part interactive sleeve design, the new app from US ad agency Wieden + Kennedy creates music you can see by turning tracks into AR sculptures that spin over records on a turntable.
This visual experience for a new generation discovering vinyl allows listeners to use their phone or tablet to view and move around AR sculptures using audio fingerprinting technology.
The app is the first in a series produced by LAVA – a new creative platform focusing on pairing music with AR to produce immersive experiences. Evolving the way we listen and create ‘music you can see’, this first iteration produces psychedelic AR sculptures that visually reflect the 70s-themed debut album by Amsterdam-based artist Necessary Explosion. Each future creation will be specific to the artist’s vision, offering users unique visuals for every album.
