What do you get when you cross a Maccy Ds with a sushi bar? The new McDonald’s Next ‘food bar’ of course. Recently opened in Hong Kong – 40 years after McDonald’s first landed there – this new dining concept is changing the way people think about and enjoy their fast food.
Once you’ve sidled up to the counter – which, by the way, they’re calling a ‘theatre kitchen’ – you can touchscreen your way to customized salads, make-your-own burgers and the DIY Create Your Taste menu that’s already popped up at a handful of existing McDonald’s restaurants around Hong Kong.
While the theatre kitchen and menu personalization might add a twist of drama, this food bar also comes with a more practical edge – open till 1:00am, free mobile charging and wifi. So social media can know all about your invention before you devour it.
