Inspired by real events, the comic tells the story of a family trapped in a town for 14 months by forces loyal to the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad.
Marvel and ABC News made Madaya Mom to give us a glimpse into the lives of those torn up by the Syrian war. Alongside a digital comic, they’ve also created discussion guides for teachers, and two short documentaries on the comic and the artist.
