To encourage a reduction in single-use plastic packaging, UK beauty chain Lush is inviting customers to go naked. Three of its outlets, so-called Naked Stores, in Berlin, Milan and Manchester, use no plastic packaging at all.
Lush has developed some products specifically for its Naked Stores – such as shower gel in a bottle-shaped block. Others exist already, like shampoo in the form of a soap bar – again, no bottle required.
So without packaging or labels, how is it possible to know what’s what? Introducing the Lush Lens, an AI-powered reader that allows your smartphone to recognise every product in-store and provide details about the ingredients and usage.
It’s better to be bare.
