Congealed lasagne. Sad lettuce. Collapsed trifle. For most of us, the thought of leftovers maybe doesn’t seem so appetising. And yet, when yogurt makers at Yeo Valley raided the fridge for the fruits that time forgot, they came up with something quite special.
Strawberry & Fig Left-Yeovers was made using leftover frozen figs, carrot juice and orange juice and released as a limited edition variety. Of course, it’s not just about getting creative with the off-cuts. Yeo Valley wanted to raise awareness about the amount of food wasted in UK households every year and to challenge consumers to think before binning perfectly useable ingredients.
Beauty lives at the back of the fridge. (Just cut the mouldy bits off first…)
