A call to arms in the run-up to 2012 and beyond, Love Clean London makes it easier for Londoners to report environmental crimes and receive progress reports from boroughs – it also saves London boroughs money. (Thanks Wadey.)
An app makes it easy to report messes. You simply take a shot of the graffiti / rubbish pile / whatever, which gets sent directly to the relevant London council department. Once the problem is dealt with, you receive a photo of the cleaned up spot. Piloted in Lewisham, the service was so successful that it has now rolled out to the entire capital.
It’s great how Love Clean London helps people do something about a mess, rather than just tut-tut about it.
