Two years after L’Oréal launched My UV Patch, the beauty brand has developed its smallest ever battery-free wearable sensor…
L’Oreal has upgraded its famous UV patch that turned technical heads in 2016. Its tiny new patch is less than 2mm thick and only 9mm wide, fitting snuggly on your thumb nail (apparently the best place to get optimal sunlight exposure).
Unlike its previous patch, this is a disposable sticker loaded with a series of dyes. This smarter little sis can track data using NFC technology, comes with a smartphone app, and can measure UV exposure and activity levels.
L’Oreal’s big goal for this tech is to replace the bulky and invasive wearables we see on hospital patients today.
Small but more sophisticated – sounds like it’s on the right track.
