Guitar Hero proved we can all be legends in our living rooms. But, when you’re rocking out in your jim jams, do you ever wish there was a bit more atmosphere in your performance space? If not screaming fans, then at least some dramatic lighting?
Well, Philips Lighting and Live Nation may have the answer. They’ve teamed up for Living Light Sessions, a series where up-and-coming artists perform in their own living rooms. The rooms are kitted out the Philips Hue connected lighting system – so, as the musicians play, the system subtly shifts in colour to reflect the musical mood. According to Scott Martin, CMO of Philips Lighting North America, it’s about helping “talented, emerging artists to inspire more dynamic experiences in households everywhere.”
The sessions kick off with Live Nation British band Rudimental performing their single Lay It All On Me. And fans can follow the whole series with hashtag #LivingLightSessions. Sure, it’ll be great. But imagine if the masses could see you doing the Hotel California solo on your tiny plastic guitar.
