Outdoors retailer is taking gender equality to new places.
US co-operative REI discovered that 7/10 women in the office felt more pressure to conform than men.
Since everyone can escape in the great outdoors, the organisation has set up programmes that address gender equality and help make the outdoors ‘the world’s largest level playing field’. So far, it has:
1) Pledged to put women at the centre of all its storytelling efforts for the rest of 2017.
2) Committed $1m to support organisations that provide opportunities for women in the great outdoors.
3) Invested in companies that are creating world-class outdoor gear for women.
4) Planned over 1,000 events to get women active.
