Socks and soap again? No excuses this year… US department store Macy’s has employed some pretty impressive tech to help customers find the perfect Christmas gift.
On Instagram, customers can create a personalised gift guide created specially for a friend or family member. All they have to do is answer a couple of questions about the recipient’s interests to generate a swipe-through list of options which they can shop directly.
Meanwhile on Pinterest, the retailer has created a 360-degree tool that places customers inside a miniature snow globe – a concept inspired by Macy’s Christmas ‘Space Station’ commercial. The globe is filled with festive décor and users can pan around to discover gift ideas hidden in the scene.
