At the risk of reinforcing a stereotype, Goths aren’t renown for their positive outlook on life. Doom, gloom, pain, and angst are words you’re more likely to associate with the culture, but Goths in Japan may finally have something to smile about thanks to Burger King.
The fast food chain has recently released two limited-edition black burgers in Japan – the Kuro Burger Pearl and the Kuro Burger Diamond – giving Goths and likeminded sub-cultures the perfect burger to match their wardrobe.
Far from being burnt to a crisp (as is often the case with many BBQ burgers) Burger King has used bamboo charcoal to colour the cheese and bun, and squid ink to create a black garlic sauce. The release follows the success of similar black burgers in 2012 and 2013.
Time to tuck into some food fit for the Goths.
