If you’re old enough to remember the Gold Blend couple, you’re old enough to remember the days when a mug of Nescafe was considered an aphrodisiac. Now, we’re all coffee aficionados who won’t settle for anything but the finest Columbian Arabica. And, most importantly, we like our coffee fresh.
Brazilian coffee brand Café Pele has come up with an ingenious idea to show just how fresh their coffee is: partnering with their local newspaper, they wrap their bags of coffee in pages from the paper and sell them alongside the paper itself. So shoppers can see that their coffee is as fresh as the newsprint on their fingers.
It’s a smart idea that shows just how quickly Café Pele can get their coffee from field to store. And it’s a technique that other kinds of produce could draw on. Of course, the UK fish and chip market is long ahead of the curve on this one…
