It looks like we’re mixing up our mixers. According to research firm IRI, alcoholic soda drink sales reached £95.3m ($116m, €106.2m) in the US alone during 2015.
Over the past year we’ve seen nostalgic flavours such as ginger ale and root beer make a come back. Drink brands White Claw and NautiSeltzer are even making alcoholic fizzy water for those looking for an alternative tipple.
Apparently the spike in popularity of seltzers and carbonated drinks is largely down to health-conscious boozers not wanting to add sugary pop to their alcohol. Well, lesser evils, right?
