For its first Japanese release, SingleCut Beersmiths, a rock-themed craft brewery in NYC, is paying tribute to American songs that gained popularity by gamifying its latest IPA cans.
The aptly named BIG IN JAPAN IPA’s honour four legendary classic rock songs by turning their packaging into a ‘Name That Tune’ game. Designed QR codes were crafted by artfully weaving intricate visual clues from the songs’ famous titles and lyrics – prompting consumers to guess the tune. By scanning them, drinkers can then test their guesses and listen to the actual songs on Spotify.
Hopefully, the beer pairs well with the song too.
