It’s the holiday moment we all dread. Waiting in the baggage reclaim your shoes appear on the belt, followed by your pants, followed by the remains of your suitcase. Clearly, the airport’s a good place to remind travellers of the value of a strong suitcase and at Palma airport recently, Samsonite made the point visibly. (It’s a wrap, Emily)
For one day, the brand offered travellers a free wrapping service with the proviso that their luggage carried a large sticker declaring “I wish I had a Samsonite”. According to reports, 1,200 suitcases were wrapped throughout the day, spreading Samsonite’s message to more than 120 destinations across the world.
It’s a clever reversal, proposed by Publicis Conseil in Paris, to use non-customers to advertise the benefits of Samsonite products.
By the way, are these your socks?
