Watch out IKEA. There’s a new dimension to flat pack furniture. With only 37% of Gen Y owning their homes, furniture companies are adapting their products with ‘Generation Rent’ in mind.
Campaign have created furniture that is delivered in pieces that fit through your letterbox, and can fold up if you move.
Or if you can’t tell your Phillips from a Spanner Head – check out CrissCross. Their furniture sets use modules that slot into pre-existing holes, meaning you don’t need any specialist tools, and can take them apart and put them together again with ease. Great news if you like to spend your weekends assembling or move around a lot.
Founded by UK Design graduate, Sam Wrigley, CrissCross is looking to “take on the big boys and reinvent flat-pack furniture, because moving should be less of a headache and more exciting”. We hope they give out free pencils too.
