Over in Japan, a large chunk of the population has oral health issues, and need filling in on how to take care of their teeth.
The Matsumoto Apple Association – an organisation of apple farmers in central Japan – were chewed up about this. They decided to team up with the Hakuhodo Kettle Inc agency to solve the problem with a campaign you can really get your teeth into.
The Dentapple campaign gives apple eaters access to a free digital dental service. All they have to do is scan the QR code stuck to their apple using the Dentapple app. From there, they have to take a bite out of the apple and submit a picture, and answer a couple of questions.
The information is then examined by a dentist, who can check your risk of cavities, gum disease, or even jaw arthritis, and refer you to a local dentist practice if necessary. What do you know – an apple a day actually does keep the dentist away.
