The FDA launches digital pill in the US…
Forgetting to take your medication could soon become a thing of the past thanks to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It’s just launched the Abilify MyCite pill – a digital pill containing a senor that communicates with a patch a patient wears on his/her ribcage. The patch then transmits data about what the patient’s taken (together with information wearables track like activity and heart rate levels) to the patient’s smart phone so they can share it with their doctor. Developers hope this clever pill will help combat patient noncompliance with medication and save the American healthcare system billions.
