Fruit and vegetable juice may be squeezing out some juicy profits, as the market is set to expand at a CAGR of 4.2% by 2022.
West Coast company, Juicero, could become the Nespresso of fruit and vegetable juice. Their press system uses packs to give you a convenient 8oz of fresh juice. The pack’s contents are all sourced from local farms in California, before being cleaned, chopped and packed at a 111,00 square-feet facility in Los Angeles.
Like Nespresso, the start-up will need to change consumer mindsets, and convince people that Juicero delivers the same taste and nutritional benefits as if you’d made it from scratch.
Juicero comes with plenty of bits. The device connects to the internet and can automate deliveries when you’re running low on juice. QR code on packs tell you where the juice has come from and the nutrition it contains. And you can check out what you’ve been drinking through the Juicero app.
