Parking is a real problem for disabled drivers in Russia. Over 30% of drivers totally disregard the signposted disabled spaces and park up anyway. Which is why Dislife, a non-profit organisation representing the disabled lobby, came up with a campaign to discourage inconsiderate parking. (Thanks DG).
Now when a car pulls in to a disabled space, a special camera checks the windscreen for the disabled driver sticker. If it’s not there, a holographic projection of a disabled person appears nearby as a visible reminder to able-bodied drivers, telling them to move on and keep disabled spaces free for those who need really them.
