Builders’ merchant creates sun cream for tradesmen
A bronzed neck and arms is jokingly known as a tradesman’s tan. But for those who work outside day in day out, there’s a serious risk of developing skin cancer. According to research from Imperial College London, every fortnight, one construction worker gets skin cancer due to sun exposure.
To raise awareness and offer practical help, UK home improvement retailer Wickes is giving tradesmen a little extra protection.
Tradesman’s Suncream, developed in partnership with Iris, London and skin cancer charity Skcin, is packaged to look like a paint pot and is available in three varieties – Brickie’s Bronze, Plasterer’s Pink and Apprentice White.
