Boston restaurant Spyce uses bots to produce healthy fast food.
The Boston-based restaurant was created by MIT students and is backed by Michelin starred chef Daniel Boulud.
The Spyce robots collect all ingredients from the fridge, cook in two minutes and clean themselves after. All are activated by touchscreens (so humans are still involved) then the meals are cooked in woks, while the customer’s name appears above. People can choose from a menu of themes from Latin, Thai, Mediterranean and Moroccan, or create their own dishes from scratch.
Many fear the end of service jobs due to robots, but here’s one business that’s embraced the technology and used it to provide healthy food efficiently, at a cheaper price.
