Drinking – it’s in your genes apparently. That’s why British brewery Meantime has teamed up with genetics company 23andMe to launch a new hyper-personalised service.
To kick things off, a sample of your saliva is analysed to suss out if you’re better suited to sweet or bitter flavours. The info is then passed onto Meantime, who will brew up your ideal beer based on your DNA.
Sounds cool right? Unfortunately the process is ‘brew-tally’ expensive. £25,000 will get you 12 hectolitres of beer – that’s around 2,000 pints. For an extra personal touch, a keg can be sent to your local pub, alongside pint glasses that are specially moulded to fit your hand. Personally, we’ll stick to whatever’s on tap.
