University College London Hospital explores how AI can support clinical decision making…
In the face of growing patient numbers and ongoing financial pressures, University College London Hospital (UCLH) has collaborated with The Alan Turing Institute to use AI to support clinical decision making.
The first stage will be to aid A&E departments, which are under strain in the UK. The AI will use collected data to understand the source of the pain or injury to stop it becoming critical.
AI has the possibilities of helping the NHS in many ways according to researchers at UCLH – by diagnosing diseases, improving resourcing and identifying people at risk.
“Machines will never replace doctors, but the use of data, expertise and technology can radically change how we manage our services – for the better”, says Professor Marcel Levi, UCLH Chief Executive.
