You’ve got something on your face. Oh, hang on, it’s OK… it’s just your personal smog filtration drone. That’s right. Smartwatches are just so last year. The next big thing according to product designers Frog, will be wearable drones – personal devices that are capable of performing physical tasks autonomously.
Four such designs were presented at this year’s SXSW. These included Breathe, a device that sits on your shoulder, monitoring air quality and hovering in front of your face to filter out harmful particles, and Flare, a navigation aid that attaches to your hand, but can fly off with directions. There’s also Parasol, a gold accessory that turns into a spinning umbrella when rain or high levels of UV are detected. A fourth, Scout is a little more specialised, and is designed to help you pick out the best routes on a rock climbing wall.
It’ll be nice to have a little help around here. Drone! Do my bidding!
