Who said every pharmacy has to look cold and clinical? The Swedish pharmacy, Vårdapoteket, is breaking convention with a vibrant rebrand. All 24 stores, as well as bags, promotional material and signage feature fun, colourful graphics and illustrations of the human body.
The pharmacies are located in hospitals and care centres, so the positive design is meant to lift people’s spirits and reduce anxiety.
Duane Reade, a New York City drug store chain, knows how to have fun with their product packaging. Their party cups are “beer pong certified” and their toilet paper proudly boasts “From Midtown To Flushing.” They even turned their barcode into the Statue of Liberty (thanks to Alex for the spot).
Greenpharma, a new cosmetics line from Botánica Nutrients, makes a statement with unusual natural ingredients like snake venom and snail saliva. Each box features bold illustrations of the product’s main ingredient, from fish roe to roses.
