We all know coffee is good for the soul – but now you can enjoy your latte with an extra shot of humanity. Being the upstanding coffee chain that they are, Starbucks has launched a new free series Upstanders.
The weekly series can be accessed through the Starbuck’s mobile app, and will be made up of texts, videos, and podcasts that explore issues neglected in the news, such as food waste, autism, race hostility and homelessness.
Starbucks are looking to brew up great coffee alongside feelings of social responsibility. According to CEO Howard Schultz “You can’t attract and retain great people if your sole purpose is to make money, because people, especially young people, want a sense of belonging – to be part of an organisation they really believe is doing great work”.
