Plastic bags and bread are not friends. (The environment’s not that keen either.) Thank the gods of baking for industrial design student Ani Dwilanski, then, who has created some simply ingenious natural packaging for challah rolls.
Her nostalgically branded crust of salt and egg white acts as bread tin, dough seasoning and chunky protective skin. When you’re ready to eat, just smash the salt shell and tuck in.
‘I was inspired by the ancient traditions of salt and bread, and the role it plays in Israeli, German and Polish culture. The packaging is completely natural and sustainable while also offering a festive way of eating and sharing bread.’
Bon appétit! Or “es gezunterheyt”, as they say in Tel Aviv.
