Do you feel guilty adding salt to your food or putting sugar in your tea? Well, researchers from a university in Tokyo have announced a tasty new invention – an electric flavour enhancing fork.
By using an electric current to stimulate your tastebuds, the fork can cook up a sweet or salty sensation. The device has been trialled at a No Salt Restaurant in a collaboration with JWT Japan, where it was used to flavour a five-course meal. It’s not yet known how effective the fork is, or if it will be available to buy. We guess the proof will be in the pudding.
