Networking with a little (Northern) soul

How we transported a creative networking event back to the golden age of Northern Soul.
 

THE CHALLENGE

The annual Stodge Podge lunch is an informal networking event, that brings together established members of the design industry from outside London. For 2015 the event needed a fun and engaging identity that got people talking.

THE INSIGHT

Aimed at northerners and set in Manchester, Northern Soul was the perfect theme for this event. The movement had such a distinctive visual style and language that it offered us a wealth of ideas to create a bold and exciting identity.

THE IMPACT

The whole experience of working with creatives at the top of their game and account management who couldn’t do enough to help made it a real pleasure. The Podge lunches are 21 years old this year but up until 5 years ago were always the preserve of London. Moving it to Manchester and renaming it Stodge has encouraged agencies with strong northern offerings to step in and support the initiative.

Elmwood were one of my personal favourite agencies before I worked with them on a live project. Now they have gone up further in my estimation. Brilliant Experience.
